1.8 Million Euro Leica Auction
#1

I've always wondered how cameras sold at those auction houses go for such ridiculous amounts. This video shows the proceedings of the auction last weekend, of a 1923 Leica O-Series. The bidding stopped at 1.8 million Euro... roughly 2.79 million USD after taxes and fees.

I'm glad someone told off that annoying photographer who kept standing up at the front. Big Grin

US$2,790,000? That's enough to buy more than half of the new 'Edition Hermès – Série Limitée Jean-Louis Dumas' M9 three-lens kits. (Fifty-five out of the hundred made, if my math is correct.) I wonder which would be the better "investment"?

Sad to say, I'm guessing this camera probably won't even be used...
