A lonely bench
It is a little bit post-processed as you've alrealdy realized... I'd be glad if you gave me your comments...
Thanks in advance ![]()

A lonely bench
The post processing on this one makes it look like one of mine...
I like what you have done - nice tight crop that still allows the viewer to share what the bench sitters would see if they were there. Good simplification technique and a trace of anistrophic diffusion if I am not mistaken. Sometimes when I diffuse or simplify a photo I lose critical charpness - and I see a touch of that here. That can be reversed by sharpening. Sharpening a diffused photo seems counter-productive I know - but it sometimes yields a very pretty effect. I like this one - well done! |

I agree, sharpening a softened photo makes slight lines around the planes and gives it a painting effect. I like this photo but recommend a little sharpening too.

A lonely bench
Hi Irma,
Just regaridng the topic and subject "Lonely Bench" -- I think the close up composition/crop doesn't really convey the feeling of lonely. Probably would be better to have it a bit further into the photo / or mid-distance so that one can truly see the isolation of the bench. B/W would help convey the feeling as well. My 2c

No need to be sorry! Always is good to see others ideas...
![]() Answering your questions: Well, this picture was taken in the isle of Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea... Yes I remember about lines but I still have problems I think.... And I have problems because I like very much to take picture of houses and buildings and most of the time I like to take the picture from one angle of the house not exactly frontal.... but then it comes the problem... I know I must have a line which guides me I don't know how to find it, which one would it be.... You will see in the Photo critique I will post one I like very much and I can't find the right angle... Thanks a lot for your advice/comment
