Great detail in #1 - and #2 has plenty to look at.

Thanks Toad. That Nikkor 50 mm f1.8 lens does wonders for me. I feel like good old Henri Carter-Bresson with his Leica. Manual focus, fast and light.

Yes, and I've noticed your work has become more "intimate" and connected somehow as a result, really engaging in fact. I realise this is not a critique forum so forgive my depth of comment Don: I felt, both in my work and that of others, that use of a telephoto often felt somehow safe and unchallenging, with a feel of remoteness and voyeurism; the 50mm(or even the scarier wider angles!), as you so rightly infer, gives a sense of challenge and puts a spring in one's step, as one has to be more intimately involved with the subject. The resulting images convey for me the adrenaline of having to get more close 'n' personal...and have more integrity as a result. That lens is a cracker too!
A question, Don: why are you shooting with minus point 7 of a stop exposure compensation? Are there lots of darks you want to cancel out?

I like your street photography Don... you are inspiring me to take my 50mm when I go to the city...

Zig: The exposure compensation is rtrial and error. I found I was always overexposing when I didn't under compensate. I don't know why. Thanks Irma. You are a cracker jack photographer. I'm proud if my work has a good effect on you.
