Best Day Of Her Life
#1

When the sun rose today, this poodle was at death's door.
Severely malnourished, an eye infection, fur so overgrown and
tangled that it looked like a bag of trash when she was dumped on the
side of the road.
As the sun was setting, she was visiting our house and posing
for this picture, trying to remember how to trust people again.

By now she's fast asleep in her new home, warm and dry, fed
and groomed, secure in the love of her new 'mom' and two
delightfully eccentric chihuahua buddies.

Today didn't start out very well for her, but it was
the best day of her life.

Thanks for sharing Keith

Aaaah that's a very heart-warming story and picture. She's bright eyed, wet-nosed and absolutely lovely. Big Grin

I do believe I can see her smiling and rightly so - because I'm sure she'll be having happy days fort he rest of her life from now on.

Thanks for the story. It's made my morning.

People get to choose their animals, but animals don't get to choose their people: this is why I think pets deserve a special level of dedication and care from their owners. I'm glad to see that, on her second try, this little girl has finally gotten lucky.

What a heartwarming story... good on you Keith. I'm sure the poodle will bring you much joy, just as you've done for her. Big Grin

p.s. what's her name? Big Grin

Thanks, folks.

I didn't have all the facts yesterday.
When she was rescued, some boys were kicking her on the side of the street.
Luckily our friend's mother was driving past, noticed what was happening, and put a stop to it.

She still doesn't have a name, but when her new owner picks one I'll post it here.
And next time she comes to visit, after she regains some strength, I'll take some more photos so you nice people can see how well she's doing.

UPDATE: Her eye infection is clearing up, she's putting on weight, her personality is starting to be revealed, and she knows how to howl.
Our friend Julie, who is her new owner, has named her Cookie.
The two crazy chihuahuas who live with her are Lucy and Gracie.
I'm sure I'll have some new photos of them all soon.

Aaaw bless her - she's probably still a little insecure and can't quite believe her new-found good fortune will last so she has a howl from time to time.

Cookie's a good name 'cos she's a sweetie. Big Grin

Thanks for the update.
