Chernobyl 20 Years On
#1

April 26th will mark the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. PixelPress has this moving series of photos documenting the effects of the people affected by the fallout. It is quite tragic really, especially with the amount of children affected and lives destroyed - and they say that the effects will pass on to their descendants as well.

I remember they told us not to play on grass or sandy grounds in Germany when it happened.
The Camara Club invited photographer Antonin Kratochvil last week (I had never heard of him before) and he talked about his work in Tschernobyl and the area. He was at the site twice, 10 years after, and close to 20 years after the accident. And he also stayed at an orphanage near Tschernobyl for a while, where lots of kids have cerebral palsy and similar disabilities. Very moving pictures....

Very interesting post about a tour to Chernobyl... photos are very eerie and the commentary is fascinating.
