Dandelion Reproduction (help please!)
#1

I need your help, lads! Any advice how to get this classic shot right? With a zoom lens, not a macro?

Today was the day - sunny with gushes of wind, and a ripe dandelion. However I'm not happy with this picture. I should have closed the aperture down to have more DOF, I was at 1/640 f5.6 210mm, so I could have gone down 2 or 3 f-stops. And although I fired as rapidly as the camera would allow, I only got a maximum of two or three seeds flying, or rather loosely clinging to the dandelion. What I desire is a steady stream of seeds flowing out of the plant, which should be thoroughly sharp. How do I do this?

You need a helper with a drinking straw... contol the wind and make it into a narrow channel... worth a try at least Smile

Of course, that's it! Thanks, Craig! Smile

Hmm, should have thought of this myself... :/
