It's a type of mushroom and grows very quickly in the dark, all it needs is water.

I have seen those, but they are difficult to photograph, specially because as you said they are in dark areas.
You have wonderful colors and light in your pictures.

Wouldn't you mind sharing your settings?

Irma, the only reason I was able to shoot this is because it got a little light coming thru the trees.
