Eagle Owl.
#1

This shot was taken on a recent visit to the local library. The bird was being taken back to a vehicle. There was a plethora of ceiling lights but no windows.

Nikon D3300 + Nikkor 55-200mm 4-5.6 G ED VR.
Aperture Priority, f/4 @ 1/60 sec, Iso 400.
Hand Held. Ring Flash on Constant.

Sadly, do not have the required skill to edit the background.
Regards to all,
Mike.

Great detail and colour in the feathers and eye. The background is thrown far enough out of focus that it isn't overly distracting.

Mike I agree with you, an edit is worth a try, here is a clone of the background. Cheers. Ed.

Thanks Ed.
It was the light in the top right of the shot that drew my eye the most.
I made the error of concentrating on the subject of the shot ( the owl ) without first checking the background. They say that you learn by your mistakes.
Thanks once again,
Mike.

It was always a mystery to me how owls became wise and, thanks to your observation, I now know!

Nice portrait - good detail and colours.

Cheers.
