First Street Shots with the Nikkor 50mm 1.8
#1

With the D40, I have to hand focus this prime lens. Sometimes I miss the sharp focus and waste a shot. But when I get it right it is really right. All these photos are substantially cropped (and shrunk--from the raw).

Yay! These are great! My favourites are the second and the fourth.

When you use it on the bus will you be trying for candids of the passengers or don't you do that these days?

I dont take pictures of passengers. I can get thrown off the boss if people complain.

Love the sharpness and the expression in number 2, looks like the lens is working out for you.

NT: One of the charms of this place is we live ion the border of the wilderness. In a way its a frontier town. Our people are a reflection of that. Crime is very low by US standards though. Whe someone complained to the bus driver that I was taking pictures. A supervisor was called, they stopped the bus. In front of all the passengers I was questioned and made to promise not to take any more photos. I could have been banned from bus travel. After a while I start4d aiming my camera out the winodw. Nobody seems to mind.

Bob: yes. Its a great lens and fast. I just have to learn to manually focus it.
