Nikon D3100 with Tokina 28-70mm f3.5, (I like to use a Vivitar .43x aux on the 28-70mm Tokina), Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye, Quanteray 70-300mm f4.5, ProOptic 500 mm f6.3 mirror lens. http://donschaefferphoto.blogspot.com/

Yes - that technique works pretty well. The only problem with HDR blending from one image as opposed to many is that it blows the color noise and grain of the image out so much. That is how I do it as well - I can't be bothered to take multiple images in case I might do an HDR - but that is the price you pay.

I am not working with hdr anymore... I try to get the more I can of my highlight without overexposed and I work my shadows with fill light and contrast in raw, then for final touch with mask in PS... It is a lot more work but at the end I think it gets more natural....

A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art.

Interesting. This isn't true HDR. It's only one raw image. These are experiments.
