How To Know If An Image Has Been Photoshopped.
#1

It’s almost impossible sometimes, to know for sure whether a particular image has been altered in photoshop or not, especially if its cleverly done. However here are some tips to test and see whether an image has been manipulated.

1.Check the file and metadata: EXIF data includes most of the data related to your photo, including the camera settings, date and time, image processing software etc. You can view EXIF data in an image easily by a photo editing software, or even inside windows. While this is not a guaranteed way to know whether an image has been altered, at least you can know what software was used to develop the photograph. However the downside is that EXIF data too can be altered easily, however normally on-one cares about going to such extremes for a photo manipulation.

2. Search for prominent marks: When you clone an image a set of pixels get copied and pasted elsewhere. So it’s sometimes possible to notice the repeated pixels inside the photograph. Especially when cloning delicate things this is more prominent.

Applying image adjustments may create halos around some parts of the image, so you can search for such halos in your quest to find whether the image has been altered.

3.Errors in shadows and Reflections: Sometimes its really hard, even for an expert manipulator to get everything right. There is a probability of occurring errors around reflections, shadows and lines etc. While its quiet difficult to spot these without a practice, it’s worth giving a try.

4.There are some online tools that scan a photo to determine whether it’s been photoshopped. However they do not preset you what was exactly altered and where. But you can try them out for free.
