Humming Birds

These were so much fun to shoot . I was having a hard time keeping my ss fast enough to stop the wings , although i did manage to get a few that i liked .. Any C/C is welcome .

Canon 20d and a few cheap lenses ..

It is our job as photographers to show people what they saw but didnt realize they saw it ......

They are beautiful Shawn... Great detail in this birds... Smile

I like them all, I can't pick a favorite...

Wouldn't you mind to share your settings, light conditions, etc... ? Smile

Thanks Irma i am glad that you liked them. i dont mind sharring my settings at all.

I was shooting in AV mode @ f4-5.6 depending on how far i zoomed .
i would change my ISO when my sutter speed to try keep my ss above 1/1000th ( 1/2500 th a lot too ) .

i have heard that there wings beat over 1000 times a second so i was trying to freeze there wings more .

This is great information, because I didn't know how fast you had to shoot.

Again, your pictures are great. I know they are so difficult to photograph, and I didn't know you had them in your place.

I have heard that too, so you have done well to get anything reasonable .
They are smaller than most birds as well, I believe. Smile
