Its a kind of shopping precinct/covered archway in the middle of Halifax UK.

I like very much the architecture in this place. I see a contrasting style between those two buildings you framed in the arch. Both beautiful in their own way.

Thanks Irma. Most of central Halifax is Victorian buildings, but odd bits remain from early history, like the Union Cross, which seems to date from the 14/15th century. I can't verify that at the moment though.
(Halifax is also the home of 'The Gibbet'. A device, similar to the guillotine, for taking off bad peoples heads.)
