Katydid
#1

I stepped out my back door about 30 minutes ago and on the railing was this katydid. Had just molted and, therefore, there is a lot of little blown out white spots - light reflection from the flash. The light catcher in the eye turned out really well. This shot was taken with a Nikon S8100 12 megapixel point and shoot at a range of about 6 inches in the dark. Wanted to share anyway.

Sorry, but I made a mistake. This is not a katydid. This is a Cicada.

It's not really relevant 'what' it is, the fact is, 'it's a damned good photo'. That is the important point.

Well done.

Thanks for the comment. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time with a camera handy.
