Last day today
#1

I'm changing jobs - accepted a position at another company. Today was my last day... which was bit sad though. It was good working with them, but I guess you have to keep moving on to new challenges.

So yeah, I packed up my desk, saved all my work and wiped my hard drive, handed in my laptop and passes, and said my goodbyes...

Starting at the new job on Tuesday. Looking forward to that, learning new things, meeting new people etc. Life goes on... Big Grin

Congratulations Smile

I'm still in my "temporary" job, I took it as a stop gap till I found something better to do after moving to the US. It's been over 4 years now Big Grin ! Though I am probably on my third job within the same company, it has evolved so I am not doing what I was 4 years ago.

It's a change, Jules for sure. Me. I have had so many jobs I barely notice it any more. Keep your bridges unburned and your references clean. They always come back to haunt you., Good luck on new job.

Good luck ST ,

I made a job change a month ago and love it . I worked at my last job for 9 years and it was time for a change , as long as you are bettering ( is that a word ? ) yourself , you will always know you did the right thing .

Thanks everyone... I'm doing something totally new which I have no experience with, but hopefully I'll be able to pick up some in depth and specialist skills here...

Everyone I know working there says its a great company to work for, so I hope it goes well. Big Grin

Well, I'm putting a different spin on this. It sucks being the new guy!Big Grin I say that because after so many years with a company to start at a new job kinda puts you at the bottom of the food chain again. Still, all is good and changes and new surroundings are always exciting and challenging. I too have managed to move into a new job 3 weeks ago. I'm back into the boat biz where I belong. Good luck Jules and congratulations. Look out for hazing.Big Grin

Hey cool... so you're back in the boat industry, eh Colin? How do you feel about that?

My first week has been interesting. Lots of friendly people to meet, and basically doing computer based training to get myself up to speed with the products. There was this sales manager guy from the US who came out to meet us and give a pep talk to our Melbourne office today. The message was very clear - we're growing and doing well in the industry - so it's going to be exciting times ahead. Next week I start following people out on clients sites and helping out. Can't wait...

The car business is very fluid.. noone seems to stick around for long... where I work there are 25 people in the sales department.... in the just over 4 years I have been there we have had around 90 people come and go. Of the 25 there 6 people have been there 4 years or longer. 9 less than 2 years, 4 less than 2 months. So we always have "the new guy" or as the car guys call them "green peas"
