Mainly for Don.
#1

Both these shots are taken with the Panasonic at f4 and resized (in CS) for web.
Nothing else.
Tree is @ 66% Jpeg and close up is at 75%.

Any stability is achieved by propping myself against the tree trunk.
The in camera anti-shake was on.

The second one (Macro) is short on DOF. (stopping down more will help)
The green blob (OOF) in the middle of the bloom is about 8-10 mm from the pink bits which appear to be in focus. The back petals are out of focus.
So at f4 I am getting about 20-30 mm in focus.

One of the ways I can get it to show more out of focus, is by oversaturating in PP.

Lumix LX5.
Canon 350 D.+ 18-55 Kit lens + Tamron 70-300 macro. + Canon 50mm f1.8 + Manfrotto tripod, in bag.
