Moon
#1

The night before last was the time that the moon was closest to the earth.
I used this to my advantage with this shot

Good capture, I believe they call it the super moon, the view from where I live was pretty good and I took a lot of photos, unfortunately I totally used the wrong settings and all I got was a big white ball in the sky, good thing I checked the camera LCD previews before I went to bed, got off 3 or 4 more with better settings after I deleted the failed ones.

These are great. Did you use a tripod?

Nikon D3100 with Tokina 28-70mm f3.5, (I like to use a Vivitar .43x aux on the 28-70mm Tokina), Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye, Quanteray 70-300mm f4.5, ProOptic 500 mm f6.3 mirror lens. http://donschaefferphoto.blogspot.com/

Yes I did use a tripod, a Manfrotto which is a little on the heavy side but very strong and stable.
I don't normally use a tripod, but just recently whilst shooting dragonflies and getting slightly fuzzy shots, I dug it out.............. I was surprised how much clearer the shots were, so a lesson learned.
A canon 100 - 400 lens was used for the moon
