We've been at a motocross racing today. I love it - the sound of unsilenced engines, the dirt flying and the ground shaking when they were thundering past. The photographic experience, however, was slightly dimmed by the fact that this was a first time for Irma and me. Taking pictures that do justice to the sport is more difficult than we thought. These moving targets are hard to focus. A first time for me was also that I had to quit because my 2GB card was full.

Oh well, next time we'll do better.

We will post our pictures in one thread, as usual. Smile

Great shots G. #4 is odd. Kind of threw me. I think I'll pass on breakfast for a while. :o
The side cars are different. I've never seen sidecar and motocross before.

Excellent action shots - my favorite is "Don't try this at Home" but many wondeful captures.

Awesome shots, G! I love the sense of action - you really get a feel of it through the shots. Great colour, sharpness etc. as well.

My favourites are the 5 from triple jump onwards...

Panning

Hey I found one! Big Grin

My panning shots didn't work well, I used th 70-210mm zoom lens all day long and this isn't good for panning, at least not for fast objects.

Mate you should consider becoming a motor sports journo - pretty much anyone of these photos would outshine shots from most motorsports magazines over here...
