You are finding a niche with these macros. I think you watch your depth of field and avoid having unfocussed stuff in front of your subject.
Nikon D3100 with Tokina 28-70mm f3.5, (I like to use a Vivitar .43x aux on the 28-70mm Tokina), Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye, Quanteray 70-300mm f4.5, ProOptic 500 mm f6.3 mirror lens. http://donschaefferphoto.blogspot.com/

I'm glad you mentioned the title: I thought I'd walked into a forum advertising prosthetic buttocks.

I really like the way you've gotten down to your subject's level. It makes for much more interesting photos.

It's funny, but I had a similar thought when I first saw it. Thanks everyone for your comments. My aperture on most was 2.8, with 4 on #3 and #4. You have a beautiful variation of mushrooms in your forest Aine. It surprises me that you have them at this time of the year.
I like very much your picture #4. A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art. Paul Cezanne

Thanks again. We get mushrooms around here spring, summer, and fall, and it has been raining a lot lately, so I guess that helps. Number 4 was actually taken late last summer, though, the last one was taken just last weekend, and the others at different times in different places. I just look for them every time we go out for a hike in the woods.
