Our flower shop.. night pictures.
The other day I asked the owner of the flower shop in our village, if I could take some pictures of the shop and he said yes... I wanted them to be at night so we went to take these pictures tonight...

Hope you like them Smile

I like these Irma - wonder how they would look if you had shot with the camera lower down and tilted up a little to miss those eaves. Just a thought Wink

I like night shots and these are no exception. They are incredibly tricky to get right. I spent hours on some of the ones I like and seconds on others. I don't know what the "magic" formula is.

Nice to see other people taking them on - they are really rewarding when you get them right. Well done!

Pat, here is the story...

The flower shop has a roof and they have some neon bars... I wanted to avoid the reflection of those lamps in the windows... as the cemetery is right in front of the shop and it is in a higher level from the street... We went in and shot from there... Difficult as well, because this street is the main street in our village so cars passing by and customers parking and buying flowers... But here you have a picture from a lower position... Smile

Toad... it was very difficult... specially to focus in the front part of the shop because it was very dark... G recommended me to go again but earlier when it is not too dark and they have already the light on... the other problem I had was the light... It has different colors... neon in the roof and the normal warm light inside the shop... so I desaturate the picture a bit and worked with color balance...

Thanks for your comments... Smile

You did the right thing Irma, avoiding those reflected lights.
The idea to desaturate and work with the color balance really paid off.

Very natural looking results, especially compared to the gaudy colors of my own night photos.

Thanks Rene... The shop was just recently redecorated... the owner built the roof and all... it is a great attraction in the street, specially this time of the year that it is dark very early...
