I was laying on a rock that goes out about 15 feet into the river.... I did get wet from spray. Here's a pic my wife took.

You really caught the motion of the water, crisp and hard. Good photos.

The place looks impressive in your picture Bob. I can imagine the noise of the river. I like the wildness (?) of the place. Great picture! Your wife's picture is great as well. Smile Why is that this river is so high now?

(?) I don't know if this is the proper term.

Hehe, cool is the proper word. I bet the water is cold!

Very nice pictures, both of them!

The river is roughly 6-8 feet higher than normal, 2 weeks ago it peaked at 13 feet!

The river is flooded more than usual due to two severe storms back to back in the high mountains, and ireonically a very sharp increase in temperature that has melted the winter snow faster than usual.

The waterfalls are better in Yosemite this year than any time in the last 30 years.

Where I am laying on the rock is exactly where the first picture was taken, from a different angle the rock looks almost like a jetty sticking out into the river.

This is about 3 miles down river and shows what it will be like by the end of August.

Wow, at first I thought the first shot was ice. Nice perspective.

not sure about the former.
