Been a while. #1is an abstract I created after a photo shoot with our group. I did a demonstration of how to photograph smoke and this is one of the creations that came from it. #2 is from another shoot.

Never heard of anyone taking photos of smoke. Your photos look great. Can you give some tips on how its done? Love the colors.

Here are a couple of links that are very helpful for learning how to photograph smoke. The 1st one is how I started to learn and I find it the simplest to follow. You don't need expensive equipment. He doesn't recommend a tripod, but I do use one as I find it easier to keep it in focus. Perhaps once you catch on, you can hand hold the camera.

This is a link to Picture Correct, which I also follow. It leads you into how to edit the pics once you have them captured!

Thanks a bunch. Easy to understand information along with how to edit the shots in photoshop. Another nice thing about the Smoke Photo link is that there are other links to photography tips from there. Just Great!
