Keith says that sunsets make good backgrounds but bad subjects.
So I say this is a photograph of a bird.

I like the composition in your picture Matt. It is simple and works great in square format.
The gradient in the sun looks great!! I've been watching abstract paintings recently, your picture reminds me those paintings. A work of art which did not begin in emotion is not art. Paul Cezanne

Thanks Irma; I've never been one for photographing sunsets, but now that I'm up high and can see them on a regular basis, I'm constantly tempted by the changing colours. In this one the sun was just slipping behind some cloud, and a few moments later, it was gone.
I'm going to have to create a book of "photos from my balcony". I should have called this "Sunset with bird and airplane", but I didn't see the jet until later. matthewpiers.com • @matthewpiers | robertsonphoto.blogspot.com | @thewsreviews • thewsreviews.com

I didn't see the jet until you mentioned it - lovely soft tones in the picture Matt.
Canon stuff.

I see the bird
Your subject is very small but nicely done. don't stare at the sun too much, I don't think it's that good for your eyes, perhaps one of the reasons my eyes have become a little worse. gear: camera and stuff http://adamloh.com http://www.flickr.com/photos/adamadam http://peopleeating.blogspot.com
