A while back I started using notepad to compose long posts...

Anyway, yeah, that's a 100% crop (800x600) from a shot I took at full zoom... handheld. I was really surprised at the detail!

huauha i got some moon shots ..
but they are cropped down ..
need to take some when the moon is low ^___^

i use a car or a bin to stabalise myself wile im taking it fro mthe driveway of my house ..

And my lens... mmm, 55mm (*1.6) for shooting moon pics, the moon comes out as a dot
What settings did you use to get that? Aperture/shutter speed settings?

55mm?? I think Cailean would have been shooting at 12x zoom (420mm) with his new Panny Z10...

hehe i got 300 mm ...
works out to about 480mm
^___^ ...
dayem ..
im working tommorow when its full moon ..
so wont get home till about 11
by then it wont be nice and big anymore ...

From EXIF:
Exposure Time: 1/250
F Number: 3.3

I believe I also had the exposure compensation knocked down a notch or two to give it little more colour/detail. Pity EXIF doesn't capture that info...

This is a shot I took just before without the exposure compensation... (same f# and shutter)

my moon photo ...
is a bit dull since i removed the colour a while ago ..
cant be bothered searching through my Cds for the original ..
but this is cropped quite a bit ...

It was a perfectly clear sky last night and the moon was almost full, so I decided to drag my tripod out and shoot some moon photos from my balcony...

This one was the sharpest out of the bunch... pretty disappointed actually. Perhaps I should have locked focus at infinity, instead of relying on the camera AF.

The moon was pretty small too - that was a full crop, not resize, from a 6 megapixel image. Was using my 10x Fuji S5000 at full zoom.... Sad
