About 7 in the evening. Catching the moon phases. Am amazed by the Nikon Coolpix. I did do some "fixing" in PaintShop, because of the distance I was shooting, because the pockmarks on the moon were so interesting. Actually, I believe the shot is a little grainy.
The graininess actually gives the photo an unique look. Usually, photos of the moon are taken at night - it's refreshing to see one against the blue sky!
I know how you feel. If you try to get rid of the noise with correction software, all the sharpness is wiped away. This is a great shot.
Nikon D3100 with Tokina 28-70mm f3.5, (I like to use a Vivitar .43x aux on the 28-70mm Tokina), Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye, Quanteray 70-300mm f4.5, ProOptic 500 mm f6.3 mirror lens. http://donschaefferphoto.blogspot.com/
