Where do you publish your pictures?
#1

Well with so many ways/places to publish/show off your pictures these days I thought this might be an interesting question.
I curently use my website
http://www.dewy.uni.cc/
and my gallery (under contruction)
http://www.dewy.uni.cc/gallery/

and DeviantArt
http://dewy.deviantart.com (Don't upload a lot there tho)

and I have (but don't use 'cause I don't know any one else who uses it, PixVillage)

Gear:
3 x GoPro Cameras
1 x Canon S100
1 x Nikon D5100
1 x Sony DSC-TX10
Apple MacBook Pro 15" (Retina Display)

I used to use pbase.com... but not since they started charging. hehehe. Nowadays I just store it on my own web space, and use DAlbum (php script) for displaying the images.

I'm using a script Peter made which lets me upload to his webspace and it displays them for me Smile

Heheh, dewy, I'd rather not... It's got some personal stuff there. It's probably not too hard to find though Smile

Link to DAlbum is here: http://www.delx.ca/dalbum/

It's pretty easy to use - you just manage your photos by FTP (yes, no need to upload via a web based form), and then fire off the "Reindex" function, and it'll build the thumbnails and gallery pages for the new images.

hehe ...
i dont really like the systems out there that much .. and since it would be usefull to learn ..
im building my own one...

[Rebel Nexus]

This is the basic version ...
i put in web uploads .. but i can acess it myself though FTP .. .
but i still need to make the automatic thumbnail generation ...

is it worth me adding in the capability to add comments ? ...
will be a pain to code it ... since im making mine non database dependant ~_~

wouldn't use Comments, causes too many problems and is a spam magnet, will/when will you be releasing that script? I would love to use it on my own site (With some possible mods)

I personally like comments, for feedback and critique... also it's quite funny when you take photos of other people and they post comments like "gosh i looks so dorky in that photo!". Big Grin

Personal preference I guess...

Yes, They can be a good idea when you don't have spammers, If you were not using a No Database method you could have a user registration feature =)

but yeah ..still gotta figure out the PHP GX functions so i can do the thumbnails ...
