I deeply admire what you have done with lines in #1 - everywhere my eye drifts, there are new lines taking me somewhere else - and of course, the horizon and sky dome are the icing on the cake.
#2 jumps right out because of his powerful setting and bold use of color. But I see that there is more there, when I look deeper - the unconventional white balance treatment in particular.
Great combination of shots - they felt mismatched to me at first glance - but they totally tie together style-wise.

Yep I agree.. the lines in #1 are sensational.
Although I do like #2 and applaude your unconventional use of WB and colour, to me it distracts a little. It would be a great photo in b/w and I feel the bold colour pulls the viewer in a bit of a different direction to the subject.
