slow site

Is anything unduly going on....?..
Like a an old bus going to a cemetery, this site seems to take ages to load, with a similar cheeriness of life when finally arriving.
Over the past week itt has progressively slowed and tonight has ground to waaaay below sub-dialup speed..surely not just me noticing this....any reason for this?

Hey Zig, pretty snappy for me - although there were some reports of slowness last week which I thought I had addressed...

I'm going on a holiday down to the coast for 4 days so I'm not in a position to do anything over the next few days, but will look at it when I get back. In the meantime, if you could continue posting your observations - what times you are experiencing slowness, whether it is improving etc. that would be much appreciated.

There's already a recent thread on this - would you mind posting any subsequent content there instead?

Julian, just for the record, for me the speed of loading is much improved (if not quite snappy) since your ministrations. Thanks and Happy New Year (somewhat late - I noticed)

Hey Zig, just following up on this - have you noticed any improvement or is it still slow for you?

Thank you Jules...actually back to what I consider normal. There are momentary phases of crawldom: some of these I'd put down to speeds my end in the network. There are times of the odd "choke" however, wherein everything other site I visit loads up fine with just ST seeming to slow, even to freeze for several minutes...there's no pattern I can discern...seems to be once or twice a week on average but at quite random times of day. It's no big worry, as I just go away and come back again.
