something moody

I thought I'd let this one breathe on its own: Luckington Court, about 20 miles away: handheld here with stormclouds at 1/800s, f5.6, 21mm

Very nice work. This looks similar to the processing style of your Johnny Depp shot. I like it a lot.

I thought it looked like a house fire. Interesting tone mapping.

I'm in a nostalgic mood, so I went looking for a photo that's one year old.

Looking at this now, I think that it's the triangles that make it effective – the light area in the sky combines with the building and its pavers to create a dynamic wedge that adds to the tension of the scene.

Zig, since this photo has had a year to marinate, would you do it differently now?

Oooo...yes; I'd reduce amount of softening. I like the strong darks...and would maybe increase these just to annoy folks.
