I hope you dont think I butchered it......

I've softened the BG, and dropped it's contrast, savaged the crop, and popped the flowers............ :/

I like this new crop.

I've tried to fix the flowers a bit, butsince I've only recently got out of bed, the result is a bit ragged!

When I take pictures of flowers I usually do it early in the morning so the light is not too bright. Specially when the flowers are yellow, white or red. In a bunch of flowers as you have in your picture, I try to have in focus just one or maybe two if they are too close, and leave the rest in the background. Trying to avoid old or deteriorated flowers is good idea.
