Outside with a flashlight for focus, I used the Nikkor 50mm f1.8 lens with the Raynox macro adapter. I set the camera to f16 (iso 1600) and used the on camera flash for exposure. Plants and flowers looked very strange to me.

1 and 5: really intriguing and pleasing textures: you must have found this fascinating. I'd guess that this is a really interesting area photographically: I'm imagining the absolute velvety darks against the sheen of foliage plus flash. I'd guess further that experimenting with flash exposure by varying the aperture would also produce interesting and variable results.
Do you think you'll be investigating these "night macros" further, Don?
thanks Zig. I did it when my partner was out one evening and I was bored. Yes. It is fun. I have to get my off camera flash from my other home. That would probably produce some interesting results.
I like these macros at night... Inspiring work Don... Smile
thanks Irma
#1 and #2 for me. Interesting technique, Don.
Thanks Toad
