Very nice picture Toad. You worked nicely the foreground and the background in color and contrast. The foggy background looks really nice and gives depth to the scene. Actually, I see a play of contrast in this one... I like to discover more and more. At this time I think about juxtaposition?

nice sense of 3-D. The halos are a bit too prominent for my taste.

Those must be jpeg artifacts that you are seeing as this is pretty much un-retouched...
[edit] Just took a look at the original - in large non-jpeg, it is much more obvious that the halos on the rocks are actually layers of fog in the background.
