Eye of America - giant camera project - shuttertalk - Feb 25, 2012

This is intriguing - a camera so large that it will capture negatives 6 feet by 4.5 feet, and will produce prints two stories high. The camera itself will be 35 feet long and transported by truck all around America - to be used to capture cultural portraits of people in super high detail.

David Manarchy is the brain behind this project and he envisions a circus type excitement when this setup rolls into a town, all to capture a single click of a person's face. The negatives themselves can be displayed as art pieces in their own right using a LED backlit panel.

Very interesting indeed...

I am a minimalist, If I owned this camera, I would carry at most 2 lenses around with me.
