Which are good replacements for the expensive Nikkor lenses (300mm, 400mm etc) - samyshah - Apr 22, 2013

Hello All

So we have seen those big long white lenses for Canon bodies.
Similar lenses are available for Nikon bodies too which includes - 300mm, 400mm etc.

But they are pretty expensive. So any suggestions for similar lenses from other third party families like Tamron or Sigma? Any reviews about its performance?

Cheers
Samy

Sigma 70-200 f/2.8. This lense is available on Ebay from time to time for around $700-$900 without OS. It is heavy and is best used with a mono-pod. here is a sample from a night HS Baseball game with poor lighting. Nikon D-7000 at ISO 800.
