An osprey I spent a day or so shooting.

that is some lovely image. let’s have more.

RE: This is my passion - Formerbob - Sep 14, 2013

Just a few more

From the look of the “passenger” I take it you are not in the UK. Great shots. Impressed that this was with only a 300 mm lens. No data with the images. What sort of distance would you have been from the birds? In a hide?

RE: This is my passion - Formerbob - Sep 14, 2013

This was in a small wildlife marsh in downtown Kelowna BC. Max dist would be 125ft. Of courses varies when they are flying. The nest tree is across a small pond from a boardwalk with 2 viewing areas. There were two birds with young in the nest but short of brief views of a head couldn't tell how many.

Excellent shots. Thanks. Ed.

Don't know where this went but try again.

RE: This is my passion - Formerbob - Sep 14, 2013

Some more of what I take and I will stop.

RE: This is my passion - Dean - Sep 14, 2013

lovely images. I hope you were a bit more than 125 foot from the bear!

RE: This is my passion - Formerbob - Sep 14, 2013

No about 80 ft but he was upslope and I wasn't threatening. As a rule they don't bother with you if you don't pose a threat to them. Leaving tomorrow to shot some pics in Waterton National Park in Alberta. Hope to get mom and cubs this time. Maybe a grizzly but not likely.

Best of luck. Let us see the results.

Definitely love that first image. Powerful action by an eagle through its wings. Nice!!

I somehow believe I'm not the only one who'd like if you don't stop Smile

Just one of 800 or so images     I took this last 3 days. Was trying out a 2x converter which I definitely dislike. Made too many of my images fuzzy.

RE: This is my passion - Dean - Sep 18, 2013

It’s the bear that’s fuzzy, fuzzy bear! Great shot though. haven’t seen too many of these around in Cornwall. luckily.

RE: This is my passion - Formerbob - Sep 18, 2013

No converter.

RE: This is my passion - Dean - Sep 18, 2013

yes, much sharper. What was the lens and converter? Still the 300mm?

RE: This is my passion - EdMak - Sep 18, 2013

Close enough to shake paws with, great. Are you doing any post processing. Ed.

RE: This is my passion - Formerbob - Sep 18, 2013

Ed not as a rule. With the converter ones I tried to sharpen them. I used the converter with a 100 - 400 zoom I was using. I am not to good with photoshop. Lots to learn.

A young cub eating. We saw lots of bears this trip. The other one is a lone male. Just had a ripping good 3 days. Shot over 700 pics.

RE: This is my passion - Dean - Sep 19, 2013

Love the picture of the cub. Great depth of field and composition. Could, possibly, sharpen a bit, just the bear.

RE: This is my passion - Formerbob - Sep 19, 2013

Thanks
