Is it spring yet? - EnglishBob - Jan 22, 2017

Seed pod waiting for warmer times. Yosemite Valley.

I was knelt in 2 feet of snow to get this, in jeans, in 33° weather. Got very wet and cold...and stupidly had waterproof over trousers in the car 50 feet away.

Canon 5dIII, 1/1250s, F/5.6, 70mm, ISO 100.

A bit more contrast, in the snow, would make it for me.

I agree with John, Craig. In fact, in both of these it looks as though the snow has fooled the camera's meter to make it expose towards middle grey - i.e. underexposure. They both look better with more brightness and contrast.

Cheers.

Likewise Craig. Ed. (from a 120Kb File size).

It's always tricky to get the correct exposure with snow because the camera is metering for the snow and your subject wil be underexposed. Spot metering will fix this issue!
