This is the lagoon on the Toronto Islands, circa 1960, when I first began my interest in photography. I found an old box of slides today and relived a bunch of Ecktachrome/Kodachrome memories.

Had some fun with your file - here are some changes. In levels use the pippette to sample whites (ladie's sweater - white patch) and black (tree trunk - amputated branch) than some adjustment of greens using hye adjustments in the green channel and finally somne sharpening. I am not very good at this - so it probably copuld be better. Pavel

You have blown out the whites in the couples hats so more practise Pavel.
Slides are very tricky unless you have a dedicated slide scanner.

You are a tough taskmaster. Thank you for that. I spent a lot of time on this photo and I tried to get the highlights back after I cleaned up the cast and restored whites. I will be posting the reviesed, more "natural" fall photo. I am looking forward to hear what you think. Pavel

Interesting results. I'm supposed to be scanning in the familys slide collection, and admittedly haven't gotten very far. But there are some images from Toronto in the early 70's that are barely recognizable as the city that's here today. They're a wonderful resource.

I think, based on my own experience, that it is very difficult as some colours are effectively gone on my slides. Of course, I also do not know what I am doing as evidenced in my attempt to fix Dennis's photo. Any ideas? Besides what NT says, too much contrast? Pavel
