As many of you'll already be aware, I'm a sucker for hanging around this field, especially at harvest time. The reflectivity of the crop(as in barley or wheat) generates that extra bit of light so that skies come out with depth, with the sun always being at one's back.
Any duffer can grab some very emotive shots here even if they have no knowledge of light or metering whatsoever, given that the corn's reflected light causes effectively a reduction in the sky of about 2 stops...sort of nature's ND filter as long as the corn is in full sun.
Shot at a nice, round focal length of 116mm Smile choosing this lens' sharpest aperture of f8, giving me 1/800s, easily handheld even without I.S.

wonderful and skillfully done. Makes me homesick for Manitoba.

Very pleasing. But I am not so sure about the small circles on the sky?

The things at the far end, look like bus loads of tourists to Castle Zig. Wink

I quite liked this when I first saw it, and it's held its appeal as I've revisited it over the past few days. Very nicely put together.

(I think NT's spotted some sensor dust in the sky.)

Yes, sensor dust; couldn't be bothered to patch it out as I thought no-one would stop and comment.
NT. Are the mills that dark and satanic round your way that anything with the shape of a haybale is construed to be a coaltruck? Big Grin
(That's normally what I let the visitors come in; they then go to the shower room. I wonder what those tins in my cupboard marked Zyklon B are for.... :| )
On a serious point, I find cleaning the 1Ds' sensor a bit like getting my hair cut: an absolute filth magnet but better results by not giving it a clean too often! Smile
