Tipsoo Dawn
#1

Mt Rainier at sunrise, from Little Tipsoo Lake. i've seen a number of shots from this spot with the mountain mirrored in the lake, but alas, there was a breeze the morning i was there, so i had to settle for a bit less foreground. on the bright side, the detail in the mountain came out wonderfully well!  Wink  it took about 10 minutes from the first touch of pink on the top of the mountain until the sun was fully up and the pink was gone... i shot well over a dozen frames, including this one, which is my favorite. the sun had reached the base of the mountain, but had not yet lit up the smaller peaks in the middle distance, and the alpenglow was at its peak, making the mountain look like a giant strawberry sundae...
