this is kind of a cliche shot - everybody and his dog takes this shot if they can. but this one did come out rather well, and i've sold more copies of this image than any other... including a 30x45 on canvas! the lighting conditions in the canyon are challenging, and a tripod is a must, along with a remote shutter release if you have one. most of my exposures in the canyon were between 1 and 3 seconds, with some as long as 6. i'd love to have had my 5D for this trip, but i hadn't gotten it yet, so i had to make do with the 17-35 on my 40D, which gave me only about 28mm at the wide end...
