spotted some buffleheads winging across the lagoon at Juanita Bay Park this afternoon, and thought i'd try and get some shots...

thanks, Toad! these little guys are quite fast, even for ducks, so they're always a challenge to shoot in flight. i had good light for these, though... you can even see the iridescence on their heads!

the 100-400 isn't a terribly fast lens... f/5.6 max at 400mm. but if you crank up the ISO... Wink

isn't that f/5.6 also? in any case, these were shot at f/7.1, so your Tammy coulda gotten the speed, anyway, if not as close...
