heron flyby

this guy flushed out of the reeds and flew by in front of me so close i could almost feel the wind from his wings... didn't have time to back off the zoom, only enough to get the camera up and focus-locked...

Excellent capture.
A guy on on other board I use, has herons nesting nearby and he has some terrific shots, both static and in flight.
Not a pro but a seasoned amateur.

Lumix LX5.
Canon 350 D.+ 18-55 Kit lens + Tamron 70-300 macro. + Canon 50mm f1.8 + Manfrotto tripod, in bag.
