New to digital slr, comments welcome

I am converting from film to digital SLR and would welcome any comments. Only had the camera about a month and these are some of my shots.

I like the first image. Something interesting about it and gives a little more story. Play a little more on the highlights and shadows to achieve a little more on the B&W look. Also there must be a reason why the image is more on tight perspective rather than wider view rule out the rule of thirds in composition. Other than that great shot revealing clouds and not having it to blown out.

I'm a sucker for older buildings, I absolutely love the first photo. Great stuff, congrats!
