I have a Canon EOS 650D with a Canon zoom EF 100-400
I haven't been doing this very long, about 4 months, but it is something I have wanted to do all my life.
62 years in fact. So I started with the garden birds etc. and the local pond.
And yes, the original is very sharp, but has lost its sharpness by going through P/B
I don't understand what you mean about 60 kb being better?
My image is 918 kb. If I reduce the kb's I would lose sharpness, surely ??????
Or is there something I am missing ?
Bad explanation, sorry. When I save your pic from Forum, I get a 60Kb File. If working from original, which may be up to 7/8 Mb, or more, the processing would look better. Cheers. Ed.
Nice sharp well focussed image, no contrasting distractions in the background, good depth of field and very natural colour. IMHO this one's a keeper straight out of the box Johny. Keep up the good work!

Your second posted image has good colour and sharpness, Johny. How about cropping slightly more to the left from your original camera shot, to give a little more space for the sparrow to "look into", e.g. -
Thanks for the tips guys,
I now put space into the area that the subject is looking into.
I also do the opposite when something is fleeing or running away
