Crail, from the road
#1

Here is another photograph of one of my favourite little harbours. This was captured, nine years ago, as a JPEG, and has recently been given a makeover. What do you think would improve it?

Fuji FinePix S9500, 1/600 sec, f5.6, ISO 100.

I like it as it is, though I might be tempted to take a little sky off the top.

I did, but it could probably lose a bit more. The original had more sky AND more foreground.

Easy to miss posts at the moment. Looks OK as you have edited it John, lovely place, never been there. Ed,

To each his own!

That is a good view, John, and I agree with Craig re. cropping the sky.

If it were mine, I would first straighten up the verticals on the left. Then apply a few colour and contrast tweaks to bring out the cloud structure of the sky, and add a bit of saturation and sharpness into the rest of the scene. Finally, crop the image to 16:9.

Cheers.
