Power Pylon Sunset
#1

Had a lovely hour walking through the woods and looking out over the Severn as the sun went down. Discovered a lovely secret lake, disturbed a heron (I didn't know the lake was there, let alone a heron), saw a wonderful sunset, met a fellow with a shot-gun on a duck hunt, watched the river mist rising, and witnessed something mysterious and big swimming upstream. There's also a barn owl in the area (the fellow with the gun told me). Need to figure out how to do this low light shooting better, but was reasonably pleased with this one despite it being noisy. I was really just testing out my 70-300 which I've just had repaired and which is now a joy to use.

Nikon D7100 70-300 lens at 70mm. f/8 1/500 ISO 1250. I could have reduced the speed but was hand holding the lens hoping to catch the owl or heron so I had the speed way up.

Critique welcome and encouraged. This is another in a series of shots of power pylons and cables stretching across the countryside.

Wonderful, with the fog and the sunset, barely even noticed the pylons!
