Hey Don,

I think its a lovely idea for a composite, I think the statues are beautiful, and I think there is potential in the shots you took (although I suspect they are shown here at 100% because they seem a bit noisy).

But unfortunately for me this one is let down by the layout. The eye should move naturally from one image to another with the layout helping the relationships and overall meaning become clear, but in this case I'm distracted away from the images by the careless layout.

Below is a link to a composite that I think has a superb layout that really compliments its subject. (I won't post the image here to respect the owner's copyright).

Here's a few more that might appeal a bit more to your taste and style of shooting.

I'm not saying you should use one of these particular layouts (although they are fairly standard so there's no reason why you shouldn't either), but they show that a good thoughtful layout can really make a lot of difference in telling the overall story, and it still doesn't need to be fancy.

..or.. maybe that's just me? Wink

Firstly, ten points for the idea, Don!

Secondly, I'd like to comment the quality of the pictures. If they are 100% crop from a full image, it make sence, but if they are just resized versions of the original shots, I am dissapointed in your camera.

Finally, i agree with Kombisaurus, that you should pick another layout for your shots. I wouldn't like to hurt you, but this layout is quite weak.

Anyway, you are on the right way and you should focus on the quality and final result now. Smile

Thanks guys. These images were (as usual) grabbed from the back of a moving cab. I used full zoom as well so the pictures arent great. I made a composite based on a recent article in Pop Photos saying that composites can strengthen weak images. Thanks for the feedback.

But maybe you should take a peaceful walk with your camera and photograph even the same objects. I think you can come up with something with a higher quality. Smile

My life is pretty complicated for a number of reasons. I think I have negotiated a few hours a week to do exactly that. I live a fair way from downtown but I willbe travelling around a bit over the next few weeks. Thanks.

Looking forward to it Don. Smile

(There could be an idea for a shuttertalk assignment here - I know there has already been a "composites" assignment, but it was very different to this kind of thing)
