My kid school dance function - C875
#1

Hi,

Just bought Kodak C875, started to take photos.
Luckily school function started after 2 days of purchase, enjoyed some moments there.
Request viewers to comment on quality and tips to take better photo

Very interesting shots. I like the shots taken at eye level the best - particularly #4.

That's a lovely costume vkkindia.

Your kid has a very cute smile in #1 and #2 too Smile
But I agree with Toad about the shots taken at the child's eye level working the best - #4 is my pick as well.
I'd also suggest avoiding the camera's built-in flash where possible - it's not so bad in #2 but shot #1 has that "deer in the headlights" look about it. Sit your child near a window during the day and you'll have loads of great natural light to use instead.

Very nice candid shots, Krishna, and your kid is very beautifully dressed...

As the others have said - #3 and #4 are my favourites. Don't be afraid of rotating your camera 90 degrees as well, so you can get a portrait orientation. Those work well if you are capturing a full body length shot.

#1 and #2 There is a lot of un-neccessary bits hanging around, like the newspaper on the settee and the hi-fi ? under the table.
These are things that you pick up early on in photography and learn to leave them out or move them .
Even the "experts" sometimes forget.Smile
The flash is better off most of the time for more natural colour, but you need also to learn about white balance as well.
This is advice to help improve your photo's, not critiscism of your shots.
Meanwhile welcome to shuttertalk.

Welcome to Shuttertalk... Smile

Beautiful girl. Lovely eyes and smile.
Does she dress like this for a special celebration?
