Passion of the Christ Flower

That's just the name of the flower. The bloom lasts for only a few hours.

Passiflora Caerula. I used to have one in my front garden, (eventually around 12ft high), and the blooms lasted more than a day, but not very much longer.
But I have just been looking at this link and found it very interesting.

I was also looking at some high magnification stuff of the corona (the purple spikey bit).

How strange! I've just finished processing some pics for the site, and one of them is indeed none other than a passionflower(as we know them in the UK).
