Greetings!

I found out about your website while doing research on buying a new digital camera (I've had two different - what I would consider "point and shoot" - and am looking to step up to something more capable) and came across some information from "ShutterTalk". Am very excited to have found this site and hoping to learn and provide, where my meager skills/knowledge could come into play, information to the enhancing of my abilities and to the skills of others.

Especially would like to develop some astro-photography skills and start taking some serious pictures. I have a Meade telescope that will accommodate a DSLR and track celestial objects...it's not a high-end telescope but something that meets my needs. That is, if I can ever get the blasted motors to calibrate. Lol.

Well, again, greetings and looking forward to some healthy interaction.[email=chazbo82@zoominternet.net]

Had a pet frog for about 12 mths ..called it wally after the 'wheres wally' kids game.
It was hard to ever find in the bushes..lived on my old computer screen in outside cupboard most days. Went out about every 3rd night to eat .. Finally lost it in a cyclone .. went out and didn't come home .
Pics were taken when wally was busy eating bugs on my kitchen window .

One pic of wally being bitten by mosquito.. other rude pic...still not sure if boy or girl.
Maybe someone knows?
Frog was wild one from my garden. Is a native Johnson River white lipped.

I'm experimenting using selective focus using a wide apertures. I've found it very interesting. Am thinking of getting a wide prime lens with big aperture to do more people shots. I found it takes a bit of practice to get the focus right. I'm using a zoom fully wide open at 2.8 for now but think a bigger aperture prime might be better.

I have taken some pics of a musical group that just happened to be walking along the esplanade at penzance the other day. It was late in the day but still seemed to work Not all that easy to focus especially when walking backwards.
pics seemed ok after i took out a bit of camera noise.
I'm definitely going to persevere with the 'selective focus' idea as i now think it has merit.
I've put some pics in the gallery here, though i do wonder if anyone looks there. Used 'selective' 'focus' as keywords to look them up.
Anyone specializing in 'selective focus' pics? And what lenses are you using?
I'm mainly interested in isolating people for this, although it could be useful for other stuff.
Anyone with any insight /ideas on selective focus and on what occasions are you doing it ? .... be interested to hear from you ... jim t

Looking to brainstorm some keywords relevant to photography!

Can you help me with some keywords and I can mix and match them to see if I can come up with a cool name?

Cheers
I am trying to get a cool website name for my photography.
I am having a hard time figuring out what domain name I should register.
I want the domain name to reflect something about "Photography".

Hi,
I'm a new member and have just purchased a Canonet QL17 III 35mm film camera. These were popular during the early 70's I think. I only paid $35 for it and only had to have the light shield replaced. Otherwise it is in great condition. The main reason I bought it is because its 40mm fixed lens is a f/1.7.

Does anyone have any comments about this camera and/or experience using one?

Thanks,

Hello All

Am wondering what tools/softwares do you use to work on HDR images?
I heard there is a tool called GIMP but anything else?

PS: Am hunting for something that is available for free
The other thing is i dont know if anyone ever visits the galleries much unsure if i should keep whacking stuff up there?.. cheers
